About SpellBee.us

SpellBee.us is my platform, and I built it around one simple idea: a spelling bee puzzle should be fair, free, and actually enjoyable to come back to. Every word list here is hand-checked, every puzzle is tested before it goes live, and there's no paywall standing between you and a good puzzle.

Who Built Spellbee.us?

I'm Umair Nisar, and I design, write, and maintain every puzzle on SpellBee.us myself. There's no team behind this and no auto-generated word database, just one person cross-checking every word against Merriam-Webster and testing every grid by hand before it's published. I built the rules to be simple enough for a first-time player and deep enough to hold a competitive speller's attention.

  • Built for students, adults, teachers, and word game regulars alike
  • No sign-up and no payment required, ever
  • Play anytime with Daily mode or Unlimited mode

What SpellBee.us Offers

The site is built around two ways to play. Spelling Bee Daily gives you one fresh honeycomb puzzle every 24 hours, a shared challenge everyone's solving the same letters for. Spelling Bee Unlimited removes that limit entirely, generate a new puzzle whenever you want, save up to 50 games at once, and share a specific puzzle link with a friend so you're solving the exact same letters together.

  • Daily puzzles for a quick, consistent habit
  • Unlimited mode for deeper, on-demand practice
  • Distraction-free gameplay with no ads blocking the puzzle

Why I Built Spellbee.us?

I kept running into the same problem with other free spelling bee sites: word lists that felt randomly scraped, "unlimited" modes that quietly capped you after ten puzzles, or word lists nobody seemed to have actually verified. I built SpellBee.us to fix that, one dictionary I check by hand, one puzzle I test myself before it's live, and one honest claim of "free" that doesn't come with an asterisk.

  • Strengthens spelling, memory, and pattern recognition
  • Helps you discover new words through genuine repetition
  • No artificial daily caps disguised as "unlimited"

How I Keep Every Puzzle Fair

Every word that appears in a puzzle answer is cross-checked against Merriam-Webster before publishing. Proper nouns, hyphenated words, and most obscure or offensive terms are filtered out by design, not by accident, which is also why an occasional real word you know might still get rejected. Every puzzle is guaranteed to contain at least one pangram, and I confirm that myself before it ever goes live, rather than trusting a generator to assume one exists.

  • Word lists cross-checked against Merriam-Webster, not auto-scraped
  • Every puzzle hand-tested for solvability before publishing
  • A guaranteed pangram in every puzzle, verified manually

Get in Touch

This site is still actively maintained, and I read every message that comes in myself. If a word got rejected that shouldn't have been, if you've found a bug, or you just have an idea for something the game should do, email me directly at contact@spellbee.us. Genuine word-list corrections get reviewed and applied by hand, not queued into a support ticket system.

  • Real replies from a real person, not a support queue
  • Open to feedback, corrections, and feature ideas
  • Built for players, maintained by one player who cares about it
